Do you want your photos to showcase your calligraphy in the best light, but struggle with styling your pieces? What about editing the photos? This guide is designed to help you take better pictures of your calligraphy whether it’s for your portfolio to show clients, or for sharing on Instagram (or both, if you are anything like me)!
This guide is 18 pages and includes instructions for downloading your presets, using them, adjusting them, and creating your own! I also included tips on flatlay styling (with pictures of me styling an image step by step). With additional tips and tricks throughout, this guide will teach you how to take better pictures whether you want to showcase a particular aesthetic or edit to show true colors.
This listing includes 21 presets. Most of the presets have a warm vintage feel, while some are designed to brighten image, to enhance dark paper, or correct indoor light. You can see some of the before and afters in the images of this listing.
If you don’t want all the presets, you can click here. This listing includes the guide and 2 “base presets” called Curves 1 and Curves 2. These presets are not designed to edit your photos to a finishing point, rather will help you edit your own photos without having all the other presets.

How do I use the presets? Download the guide first and read the instructions. Many phones now are able to open the preset files in Lightroom without any trouble. Try this first. Again, the guide has detailed instructions. You can also google “how to install mobile presets” to find more instructions. This may help if you encounter issues. If you continue to have issues, please let me know! Once you have the presets in Lightroom, the guide has additional tips for achieving the results you want.
What if I just want the guide and not the presets? It is available here with just two presets. You do not have to save those presets if you do not want them.
Will they work for my lighting? I included so many presets because I hoped to cover a myriad of lighting situations! However, everyone’s phone cameras are different, lighting is different, editing styles are different… this is why it was so important to me to provide a guide so that you can learn how editing works so that you can make the photos look the way you want. Once you know what you want your pictures to look like, you can save those edits as a new preset and have your own preset created by you for your light and camera!
I don’t do calligraphy. Will this guide still benefit me? If you take flatlay pictures (especially pictures of paper) or if you just want to learn how to use Lightroom better, this guide can still help. You can purchase this listing with the presets, or purchase the listing that only has two presets (that will benefit nearly any type of photograph- even outdoor landscapes!).
I need my colors to appear true so that I can accurately represent my product. Should I purchase this listing or the guide with just two presets?
